Seawater cannot be used directly due to its very high salt content. Desalination, i.e.the use of seawater desalination to produce fresh water, is an open source incremental technology to realize water resources utilization and can increase the total amount of fresh water. Seawater has a large amount of sediment and turbidity variation, as well as a large number of microorganisms, bacteria and algae, which can directly affect the normal operation of desalination equipment. Pretreatment of seawater is the key to ensure long-term stable operation of core equipment of the reverse osmosis system. The excellent performance of ultrafiltration makes it possible to completely replace the traditional pretreatment filtration equipment and provide high quality and robust incoming water for the desalination reverse osmosis system, which, inturn, sets an excellent example for the application of seawater resources.
